President William Ruto has launched the Sh5.5 billion revival of the Voi–Mwatate–Taveta railway line, a project aimed at revitalizing regional trade and connectivity after nearly two decades of inactivity. The President defended the inclusive government model during a development project launch in Taita Taveta County. Meanwhile, a heated exchange of words has erupted between Senator John Methu, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and President William Ruto. In contrast, the Southern Bypass was temporarily blocked by suspected goons on Saturday morning, leading to significant traffic disruptions and reports of motorists being attacked, with police having since reopened the road.
