Protests erupt in Garissa and Narok over killings, residents demand justice - April 2026

Protests erupted in Garissa and Narok counties on Tuesday as residents and students demanded justice following two separate deaths. In Garissa, residents took to the streets to protest the fatal shooting of Aden Mohamed Hassan, while residents in Nyamira also complained about bad roads disrupting transport during the rainy season. The Governor of Garissa has strongly condemned the killing of Aden Mohammed Hassan, who was shot dead yesterday, and residents are demanding a swift investigation following the fatal shooting of a taxi driver by police officers. Meanwhile, Manyatta MP Mukunji has condemned the killing of 2 protesters in Embu during demos in Ishiara.
