• The FKE warns of increased business pressure due to high taxes and economic instability.
• FKE Chief Executive Officer Jacqueline Mugo highlighted that aligning agricultural sector minimum terms with general wages could significantly raise labour costs.
• The organization also raised concerns about delayed Value Added Tax (VAT) refunds, which are impacting business cash flow and are a particular issue for agribusinesses.

The Kenyan Ministry of Education has ordered all Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to strictly adhere to standardized modular fee structures by May 4, 2026.

• The directive is in line with the implementation of Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) modules.
• The State Department for TVET Institutions will conduct a national monitoring exercise to ensure compliance.
• Institutions, including national polytechnics and technical training institutes, must also submit key training documents and provide access to facilities.
