Nandi Senator Samson Cherarkey has initiated a process to review and potentially remove retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's state retirement benefits, citing his continued involvement in political activities. The motion has triggered a strong reaction from the Jubilee Party, with former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i advising the current government to stop using Uhuru as a scapegoat for its shortcomings. Separately, a Senate motion has been introduced to scrutinize and alter the retirement benefits allocated to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, with a parallel motion presented in the Kenyan Parliament to revoke these benefits.
