The Football Kenya Federation leadership crisis has intensified as Vice President McDonald Mariga and eight National Executive Committee members were summoned by Parliament to address an alleged 43 million shilling insurance scandal related to the 2018 African Nations Championship. A McDonald Mariga-led faction presented Parliament with allegations of deep governance, financial, and administrative failures within the federation. Key figure Hussein Mohammed reportedly struggled to answer questions regarding the CHAN 2024 financial scandal before a parliamentary committee. The Kenyan Parliament is currently investigating serious allegations of financial mismanagement and misappropriation of funds within the football governing body.
