Atwoli Labels Gachagua Tribalist - May 2026

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has strongly criticized Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, labeling him a tribalist who lacks genuine concern for the welfare of ordinary Kenyans. Kenya Kwanza leaders have separately challenged Anglican Bishop Charles Ong'Injo of Kisumu regarding his public commentary on education, questioning whether he should choose between the pulpit and politics. They also accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of political envy. President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to move past divisive politics and foster unity, cooperation, and self-confidence for national progress, though his education reforms have also drawn scrutiny.
