The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has opened applications for six elective positions, including the presidency, for the 2027 General Election, with members having until June 30, 2026, to apply via the party portal. This comes amid a public spat between Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi and Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga that has exposed deep divisions within the party following the death of its leader. Former Kenya Seeds chairperson Wangui Ngirici separately criticized public officers engaged in premature political campaigns, arguing they are neglecting their duties and fueling corruption networks.
