The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) has issued a strong list of demands to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), focusing on promotions, allowances, and intern teachers.
- A major demand is for the TSC to immediately advertise vacancies for the promotion of 135,000 teachers who have been stagnating in their job groups for years.
- Kuppet Secretary General Akelo Misori is leading the union's push for the timely implementation of the second phase of the 2025-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- The union is also strongly opposing any review that could reduce hardship allowances for teachers in remote areas and is concerned about the effectiveness of the teachers' medical scheme under the Social Health Authority (SHA).
