Wajir Prepares for Historic Madaraka Day Celebrations - May 2026

President William Ruto has announced a significant government investment aimed at improving electricity access in Wajir County, with Sh4.1 billion allocated for electricity connectivity. Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has confirmed that Wajir County is fully prepared to host the Madaraka Day celebrations tomorrow, with all security and logistical arrangements finalized. The state has also ordered state agencies to implement a new centralized tamper-proof HR system to eradicate payroll fraud and ghost workers, with CS Ruku spearheading human resource reforms within the government.
