The High Court issued a temporary injunction freezing the appointment of three directors to the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) board and suspending any resolutions made with their participation. The Employment and Labour Relations Court separately halted the duties of three newly appointed Ketraco board members, pending the hearing of a petition challenging their appointments. Meanwhile, Kenya's National Treasury is turning to the newly established National Infrastructure Fund to finance Sh30.9 billion in energy sector projects, including vital upgrades to the national electricity grid, for the fiscal year starting July 1.
