EU, AFD Expand Clean Energy Access to 100,000 Kenyans - June 2026
The European Union and Agence Française de Développement have launched the second phase of the Green Mini-Grid Programme, aiming to provide renewable electricity access to over 100,000 Kenyans in underserved areas. Meanwhile, Kenya Electricity Transmission Company has successfully energized the new 400kV Isinya-Konza Transmission Line and Konza Substation, ensuring stable power supply for Konza Technopolis and the lower eastern region. Additionally, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority reduced fuel prices in its latest monthly review, slashing diesel by Sh10 and petrol by Sh0.22, providing relief to motorists across the country.
