Parliament Approves New Agency to Combat Cybercrime - June 2026
Kenya's National Assembly has approved the establishment of a new agency to combat escalating cybercrime and protect the nation's digital infrastructure. In a separate development, Kenyans will soon be able to download and print their birth certificates online following the government's initiative to digitise civil registration services. The IMF has also advised the Central Bank of Kenya to reduce the frequency of its Monetary Policy Committee meetings from six to four annually.
