Kenya's National Assembly has approved the establishment of a new agency to combat escalating cybercrime and protect the nation's digital infrastructure.

• 3.37 billion cyber threat events were detected between January and March 2026.
• The National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA) will coordinate national efforts.
• The agency will work with government agencies, security bodies, regulators, private sector players, academic institutions and international partners to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats.
