FIFA, CAF intervene in FKF leadership crisis - July 2026

International football bodies FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have stepped in to address the ongoing leadership crisis within the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). Officials from the Football Kenya Federation have met with representatives from FIFA and CAF to discuss and improve football governance in Kenya. Local Organizing Committee Chairman Nicholas Musonye has urged for a comprehensive, government-wide approach to the preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
