The National Land Commission (NLC) is intensifying preparations for the expansion of the 83-kilometre Nyali Bridge-Mtwapa-Kwa Kadzengo-Kilifi (A7) highway by identifying additional land parcels for compulsory acquisition. Separately, Dangote Industries Limited has announced plans to build a new 700,000-barrel-per-day oil refinery in Kenya, significantly expanding its refining capacity across Africa. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly defended the proposed National Infrastructure Fund, aimed at directing proceeds from asset sales into long-term development rather than recurrent expenditure.
