Internal divisions are surfacing within the Kenyan opposition regarding the selection of its presidential flagbearer for the 2027 General Election, prompted by disagreements between key coalition principals. The United Opposition Coalition has stated it has not yet decided on a single presidential candidate, dismissing prior reports. Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya met for nearly 10 hours in Kitale, agreeing to form a united political front ahead of the 2027 General Election. Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has dismissed claims that the opposition One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has settled on a single presidential candidate.
