The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a suspect believed to be the mastermind behind a scam that defrauded job seekers of over Ksh8.6 million by promising fictitious government jobs. Additionally, DCI is investigating a robbery in Westlands, Nairobi, where four armed suspects on two motorcycles stormed a restaurant, stole valuables, and fired two shots before escaping. Separately, the Kenyan government is set to announce stringent measures on Tuesday, July 7, to combat payroll fraud within the public service, particularly targeting implicated human resource managers.
