Kenya Railways Corporation has announced plans to extend the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) line by 15 kilometers from Syokimau Station directly into the Nairobi Central Business District.

• This extension aims to eliminate the costly and time-consuming last-mile journey for SGR passengers into the city centre.
• The project involves Kenya Railways and will establish new stations in Imara Daima, Makadara, and Nairobi CBD.

Motorists will soon face increased toll charges on the revamped Gilgil-Mau Summit Highway, part of the expanded Nairobi-Nakuru Highway. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a new toll rate that is higher than previously disclosed for an adjacent section.

• Motorists will pay Ksh8.50 per kilometre for the 94-kilometre Gilgil-Mau Summit section.
• The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is the organization implementing the new rates.
• This rate is Ksh0.50 higher than the Ksh8 per kilometre charged on the Rironi-Gilgil stretch, with the entire 233-kilometre highway costing Ksh1,911 if fully tolled.
