57,000 Students Miss University Placement as Digital Learning Expands - July 2026

Approximately 57,000 students in Kenya have missed out on university placement, according to the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). The Kenyan government has accelerated the implementation of the digital learning program in public schools. In a separate development regarding education, numerous schools in Kiambu County are reportedly losing millions of shillings meant for student capitation due to a widespread lack of birth certificates among pupils.
