President William Ruto's political allies are intensifying efforts to unseat Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya in the upcoming 2027 elections. At the same time, President Ruto expressed confidence in his 2027 re-election bid while Deputy President Kithure Kindiki cautioned Kenya Kwanza leaders against premature 2032 succession politics. President Ruto also launched the second phase of the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (Nyota) programme on July 10, 2026, utilizing a coordinated approach involving Cabinet secretaries and senior officials to simultaneously inaugurate events across all 47 counties.
