A suspected armed robber, believed to be involved in a recent daylight restaurant attack in Nairobi's Spring Valley, was fatally shot in a police operation in Joska, Machakos County. Detectives recovered a Beretta pistol during the encounter.

A sitting Nairobi Member of County Assembly, Aaron Kang’ara Wangari, and two others have been charged with robbery with violence following an incident in Donholm on June 26, 2026.
