Uber to Acquire Glovo’s Parent Company for €13 Billion - July 2026
Uber is set to acquire Glovo's parent company Delivery Hero in a deal valued at approximately €13.0 billion (roughly $14.8 billion). This acquisition means Uber will own both Glovo and Uber Eats in Kenya, consolidating its position in the Kenyan food delivery market. Separately, Stanbic Bank Kenya has appointed Michael Mutiga as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Abraham Ongenge who has been acting CEO. In another business development, Airtel Money has transitioned its Rudishiwa transaction rewards from airtime top-ups to cashback deposited into a new Bonus Wallet, offering greater flexibility to users though the change has yet to be formally announced.
