Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered a thorough investigation into alleged violence during the Ol Kalou by-election, vowing that no one will be spared in the investigation. The-chaos-marred election saw armed and masked individuals clash with residents, with tear gas lobbed at crowds during voting. DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua blamed Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and the IEBC for the chaotic incidents. Residents camped outside polling stations overnight to protect their votes during the Thursday parliamentary by-election. Security agencies were accused of failing to protect media workers.
