Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru has won the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election by a significant margin, securing 35,440 votes. The victory marks the DCP's first seat in the National Assembly and represents a major upset for the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka declared the result signals significant political shifts coming in 2027. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki congratulated the winner before official results were announced, urging unity. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua celebrated the win as a rejection of intimidation and what he called the "deception of development projects."
