Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has won the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election held on Friday.

• Waweru secured 35,440 votes, significantly defeating his closest competitor, Samuel Muchina Nyagah of UDA, who received 5,450 votes.
• The victory was celebrated by political figures across the divide, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who urged Waweru to unite and serve all residents without discrimination.
• Several leaders, including DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, congratulated Waweru on his "historic" win, while also raising concerns about alleged voter bribery, intimidation, and violence during the campaign and on polling day.
