Sudi Dismisses Gachagua’s ‘7 Million Votes’ Claim After Ol Kalou By-Election Victory - July 2026
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has refuted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's claim of being able to mobilize seven million votes from the Mt Kenya region against President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, deeming it mathematically impossible. At the same time, UDA National Organizing Secretary Vincent Musyoka Kawaya dismissed the opposition's interpretation of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election results as a predictor for the 2027 Presidential Election. Meanwhile, NLP views its fourth-place finish in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election as a significant step in its grassroots development. Additionally, former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria assured Ol Kalou residents that all ongoing government development projects will continue uninterrupted despite UDA losing the by-election.
