Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has refuted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's claim of being able to mobilize seven million votes from the Mt Kenya region against President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, deeming it mathematically impossible.

• The dispute follows a by-election victory for the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) in Ol Kalou, which Gachagua's allies presented as a sign of the region's shift.
• Sudi cited that the total votes cast in the Mt Kenya region in the 2022 presidential election for both Ruto and Raila Odinga were approximately 3.8 million.
• Sudi argued that even with new voter registrations, the region could not exceed four million votes, challenging Gachagua's figures as exaggerated.
