Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has stated he will not honour any summons from the National Cohesion and Integration Commission unless former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is also summoned over alleged inflammatory remarks. Political leaders Martha Karua and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka have demanded Duale's dismissal over alleged ethnically divisive remarks. Meanwhile, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused allies of President William Ruto of undermining Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and warned of political divisions in the Mt. Kenya region. Gachagua is also launching a strategic push to consolidate his influence in the Mt Kenya region using his Democracy for Citizens Party following a victory in the Ol Kalou by-election.
