The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved bribery charges against a Senior Principal Magistrate and a Senior Probation Officer in Kangema, accused of soliciting money from a businessman for a favourable probation report. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested the duo following an investigation into a Ksh 150,000 bribery scheme. The probation officer, Julius Irungu Njogu, is accused of soliciting and receiving money to influence a criminal case at Kangema Law Courts. This represents an intensification of anti-corruption efforts targeting judicial officers.
