The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved bribery charges against a Senior Principal Magistrate and a Senior Probation Officer in Kangema, accused of soliciting money from a businessman for a favourable probation report. A Principal Probation Officer, Julius Irungu Njogu, was arraigned in court for allegedly soliciting a bribe to influence a court sentence. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is pursuing the magistrate after the probation officer was arrested and charged with corruption related to a Ksh 150,000 bribery scheme.
