Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged political parties within the Kenya Kwanza coalition to unite behind President William Ruto for his 2027 re-election bid, while allowing for "friendly competition" for other elective positions. He made these remarks in Maralal Town, Samburu County, during a defection ceremony. Meanwhile, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed rumors of engaging in talks with President Ruto, urging opposition parties to unite against the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 General Election.
