Kindiki Urges Kenya Kwanza Unity for Ruto 2027 Re-election - August 2026
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged political parties within the Kenya Kwanza coalition to unite behind President William Ruto for his 2027 re-election bid, while allowing for "friendly competition" for other elective positions. He made these remarks in Maralal Town, Samburu County, during a defection ceremony. Meanwhile, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed rumors of engaging in talks with President Ruto, urging opposition parties to unite against the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 General Election. Martha Karua, leader of the People's Liberation Party, has also declared her intention to run for the presidency in 2027, vowing not to dissolve her party.
