Ruku Defends DP Kindiki, Labels Gachagua a Thief - August 2026
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has publicly defended Deputy President Kithure Kindiki against attacks from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, while labeling Gachagua a "thief" and Kindiki a "humble leader." Ruku stated that Gachagua's issues are with President William Ruto personally, not with the Mt. Kenya region. Separately, concerns are rising at State House as Gachagua is accused of repeatedly preempting official announcements made by President Ruto, with leaks from his speeches embarrassing the president. At the same time, MPs like Mwengi Mutuse have expressed support for Ruto's development agenda and called for a new vision beyond Vision 2030.
