Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has defended its decision to fell mature acacia trees, which led to the displacement and death of nesting marabou storks, citing safety concerns.

• KNH claims falling branches had previously damaged infrastructure, vehicles, and killed some birds, and that a technical assessment confirmed the safety risk.

The Kenyan Government is set to lower the cost of fertiliser and seeds to support farmers and ensure national food security following below-average rainfall, announced President William Ruto.
