Coast Civil Society Demands Investigation Into MPs' Bribery Claims Against Gachagua - August 2026
Civil society organizations from the coast region are demanding a thorough investigation into allegations that Members of Parliament received bribes during the impeachment process targeting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Separately, civil society groups have also called for a probe into bribery claims that emerged during the Gachagua impeachment proceedings. Former Deputy President Gachagua has defended his statements and accused the government of neglecting Kenyans, while alleging that armed goons who robbed revellers over the weekend on Ngong Road were working in coordination with police officers.
