A new Senate report reveals that 27 out of 47 counties failed to meet the statutory 35% development spending threshold in the 2024/2025 financial year. This follows an earlier report showing that only six out of 47 counties met the legal threshold for development spending in the 2024/25 financial year, with Nairobi and Taita Taveta identified among the worst performers. The reports highlight significant failures in channeling public funds into projects that benefit residents, raising concerns about county governance and accountability.
