Orengo says no amount of threats will prevent Linda Mwananchi from holding rally in Homa Bay - August 2026

Siaya Governor James Orengo has declared that the Linda Mwananchi coalition holds the answers to Kenya's pressing issues, and that their planned rally in Homa Bay will proceed despite alleged threats from ODM leaders. Organizers of the Linda Mwananchi rally have officially notified police of their planned event on August 16, 2026, with notification to be formally lodged at the Homa Bay Police Station. Separately, organizers of President Ruto's government have launched a sharp attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his persistent criticism of the current administration. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has also issued a stern warning to DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua regarding his recent statements about the death of its founding father, Raila Odinga.
