Orengo says no amount of threats will prevent Linda Mwananchi from holding rally in Homa Bay - August 2026

Siaya Governor James Orengo has declared that the Linda Mwananchi coalition rally planned for August 16, 2026 in Homa Bay will proceed despite alleged threats from ODM leaders. The organizers have officially notified the police, with notification to be formally lodged at the Homa Bay Police Station. Meanwhile, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has issued a stern warning to DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua regarding his recent statements about the death of its founding father, Raila Odinga. Separately, organizers of President Ruto's government have launched a sharp attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his persistent criticism of the current administration.
