• St Joseph's Kitale thrashed hosts Benjamin Mkapa Secondary School 4-0, with Salome Ayoo scoring a brace.
• Nyamira Girls, the 2023 national and East Africa champions, also made a strong return with a 6-0 victory over Arusha Meru.
• Ng'iya Girls edged out Uganda's St Mary's College Namagunga 1-0, with Quincy Achieng scoring the decisive goal.

Kenyan national champions Kesogon Girls School and Chesamisi Boys kicked off the 2026 East Africa games in Morogoro with dominant victories in volleyball.

• Kesogon Girls School impressively defeated home side Lumala Secondary School in straight sets (25-3, 25-7, 25-12).
• Chesamisi Boys also secured a convincing win against Matiliku Boys in three sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-17).
• In a notable upset, St Martha’s Mwitoti edged out fellow Kenyans Soweto Academy 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

Kenyan schools Kisii School and Upper Hill School launched their title defenses strongly at the East Africa rugby 15s in Morogoro, Tanzania.

• Kisii School dominated Uganda’s Namilyango College with a decisive 47-3 victory.
• Upper Hill School, the national champions, defeated Uganda’s St Mary’s College Kisubi 25-12.
• In handball, Moi Girls Kamusinga also started strong with a 36-25 win, while St Joseph’s Girls Senior School Kitale faced a loss.
