President William Ruto has ordered that over 107,000 Community Health Providers (CHPs) be integrated into the Social Health Authority (SHA) plan, with their stipends to be reviewed in December.

Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson has formed five multi-agency teams to prepare the city for the anticipated El Niño rains, following the identification of 227 flood hotspots across the county.

• The teams will focus on areas such as infrastructure, emergency response, shelter, security, and communication.
• Governor Sakaja Johnson is leading the proactive preparations involving various county departments and agencies like the Kenya Red Cross and NDMA.
• The county is also implementing a Ksh2.4 billion program to clear drains and strengthen drainage systems, with Ksh2 billion earmarked for 19 flood-prone roads.

Kenya will mandate that all imported medicines carry a unique global identifier starting January 1, 2027, to enhance tracking and verification of medical products.

• Imported medicines must feature internationally recognized data matrix codes for unique identification.
• The Digital Health Agency (DHA) is collaborating with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) on this initiative.
• This directive aims to combat substandard and falsified medicines entering the Kenyan market.
