BOC Kenya reported a 39.8% dip in net profit for the first half of 2026, yet increased its interim dividend by 60% to Sh4 per share, continuing a trend of rising payouts. Meanwhile, Kenya is aiming to significantly expand its mortgage market, targeting one million mortgages as it scales up its affordable housing program, which seeks to include more Kenyans in formal housing finance by considering alternative creditworthiness measures.
