National Bank of Kenya has reported a significant 60.5 percent jump in net profit to Sh1.72 billion for the first half of 2026, defying a dip in interest income. Meanwhile, Family Bank has launched its 98th branch in Upper Hill, Nairobi, marking a significant expansion in a key business district. Separately, Kenya's pension assets have surpassed Sh3 trillion for the first time, reaching Sh3.17 trillion as of June 2026, representing a 12.66 percent increase over the preceding six months. At the same time, Nairobi's construction sector is showing signs of recovery as the value of building approvals significantly increased to Sh84bn in the first five months of 2026, following a decline in the previous year.
