After a 55-day period of reflection, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has declared his readiness to compete for the Kenyan presidency in 2027. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that Kenyans are encouraging him to run for president in the 2027 General Election. He has ruled out zoning arrangement with allied parties, stating that DCP will field candidates allover. Political analyst Muita Ndungu suggests that Gachagua's inclusion on the ballot could significantly benefit President William Ruto's re-election campaign. Additionally, Gachagua has stated that he has confined William Ruto back home and Kindiki in Tharaka, while also expressing his desire to unite Mt Kenya following consultations at Wamunyoro.
