Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has raised concerns regarding the tendering process for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), warning of potential security risks in the upcoming 2027 general election. He alleged that IEBC commissioners and President William Ruto received a bribe of Sh2 billion to award a technology tender to a South Korean company. The IEBC has refuted these claims that Miru Systems has been awarded a contract for the 2027 general election technology. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is calling for increased transparency from IEBC regarding the procurement of election technology for the upcoming 2027 General Election, with Kenya's opposition planning to closely monitor the upcoming elections to prevent vote rigging.
