The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has experienced a dramatic financial decline, spending Sh2 billion in one year and leaving only Sh77 million in its accounts, amidst internal divisions and an uncertain political future leading up to the 2027 General Election. The party faces internal democracy challenges as five members of the Odinga family emerge as potential contenders for various elective positions in the 2027 General Election. Separately, a fresh parliamentary push aims to allow diaspora Kenyans to vote using their national identity cards instead of just passports, potentially expanding electoral inclusivity for the 2027 General Election.
