Kenya's Ministry of Health has recorded 1,298 Mpox cases and 19 deaths nationwide, with seven counties including Nairobi identified as high-risk due to their proximity to transport corridors and borders. The government is urging the public to enhance hygiene and preventive measures amid the ongoing outbreak. In a related development, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union issued a seven-day ultimatum to resolve the nurses' strike, with doctors threatening to join the walkout. Additionally, over 11,000 pharmaceutical technologists are threatening to strike over new 2026 Good Pharmacy Practice Standards that would limit their practice.
