Kenya's meteorological department has confirmed that the El Niño phenomenon has started gaining momentum after months of anticipation. Migori County residents are living in fear of potential impacts from the upcoming El Niño phenomenon. Parents in Kajiado County are urgently appealing to the government for essential resources, citing severe overcrowding and lack of learning materials at Olubi Comprehensive School, where over 300 students face a severe shortage of classrooms. The government, through Principal Secretary Carren Ageng'o, has ramped up child protection measures ahead of El Niño. Meanwhile, residents of Elgeyo Marakwet are urging the government to provide early warnings about the impending El Niño to facilitate preparedness.
