The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has confirmed that blogger Albert Ojwang died in police custody at Central Police Station in Nairobi on June 8, 2025, following an assault.

• Two individuals, including the OCS of Central Police Station, Samson Talam, have been arrested.
• A post-mortem revealed the cause of death as head injuries, neck compression, and extensive bruising.
• Investigators found evidence of tampering with CCTV footage at the station, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding Ojwang's death.
