Kenya experienced a dramatic rise in cyberattacks, with threats increasing by 201.7% to 2.5 billion during the first quarter of 2025, according to the latest report from the Communication Authority of Kenya (CA).

• Total cyber threats: Increased to 2.5 billion from 840.9 million in the previous quarter.
• Key organization: Communication Authority of Kenya issued 13.2 million advisories to firms in response.
• Notable trends: Web application attacks rose by 11.8%, while DDoS attacks dropped significantly from 15.1 million to 4 million.
