Trials for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships have been moved to 22nd July at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, instead of the previously scheduled dates of 1st and 2nd August. This change is due to the unavailability of the venue.

• Invited athletes must pick up their running bibs on 21st July.
• Athletics Kenya announced that only athletes who meet qualifying times and AIU requirements will compete.
• The championships are scheduled for 13th to 21st September in Tokyo, Japan, as Kenya aims to improve on its previous performance in Budapest.
