The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has received a third proposal for the upgrade of the Nairobi-Nakuru highway from Multiplex Partners Company, although it is still under evaluation.

• 175-kilometre four-lane expansion planned, from Rironi to Mau Summit
• KeNHA has approved earlier proposals from China Road and Bridge Corporation and Shandong Hi-Speed Road and Bridge International company as of July 22
• Construction is expected to start in August and complete within 24 months
